Steep Marsh Traffic Survey

Overview

The SMRA funded a traffic survey following a meeting which expressed significant concern as to the increasing prevalence of trucks and delivery vehicles (Often in contravention of the local weight limits) – the traffic increase was primarily originating from The Brickyards Industrial Estate.

Methodology

  1. In 2012 a application was submitted for the increase in the number of units in The Brickyards Industrial Estate, one of the documents required was for a traffic justification.
  2. A new survey was carried out in August 2021.
  3. This survey used exactly the same processes, tools and systems that the initial report used as well as the standard traffic authorities.

Findings

The findings of this survey showed that there has been a average increase of 43% with some days seeing an increase of up to 89%
